Growing up in an academic household, I essentially "tunnel visioned" my way through undergraduate and grad school. The focus on nutrition and wellness, nurtured by my mother's books, was a natural fit for me. I took every Nutrition class available in my undergraduate studies and loved every moment of it. After graduation, I decided to pursue a Health Law Degree, aiming to work in Health Policy and apply my nutritional background to the healthcare world.

The idea that we are healing machines has always fascinated me. However, I found that modern-day medicine is often focused on quick fixes, ignoring the body's inherent ability to heal itself. These quick fixes frequently involve medication filled with chemicals, which can create havoc on the body without addressing the root of the disease. Functional medicine, on the other hand, looks at nutrition, the environment, and the whole person in its approach to healing – an approach I consider imperative.

In 2011, my introduction to "outside the box" skincare formulators immediately captivated me. The prospect of healing the skin (the body's largest organ) through nutritional remedies was intriguing. It was then that I realized how many skincare products not only contained harmful chemicals but, much like processed foods, lacked the necessary components to help the skin heal itself. This was my lightbulb moment.

This indirect path led me to create a skincare line Powered by Nutritional Science. My goal was to change the landscape of traditional skincare. Skin cells are constantly renewing, and by tapping into this renewal (healing) process and using the correct nutrient complexes, one can achieve better skin now than in their youth.
